Feralco, a Spanish company dedicated to helping industries and communities get clean water and Mellby Gård, a Swedish family-owned investor have recently decided to launch a corporate venture fund focused on investing in impact-driven projects, FMG Circular Invest. This initiative reflects the companies’ commitment to contribute to a more sustainable future and align its activities with its social and environmental values. Together they identified global trends related to their activities (global shortage of water, increased population, necessity of circular economy, etc.) creating investment opportunities for both entities.
FMG Circular Invest aims to generate attractive financial returns while contributing to positive social and environmental outcomes. The fund has been designed to invest in early-stage or intermediate-stage projects, mainly in Europe.

In collaboration with KIMPA, FMG Circular Invest has defined a strong and relevant investment thesis, aimed at supporting innovative projects with a positive impact in the fields of phosphorus removal, micropollutants and microplastics elimination and circular economy-driven process close to Feralco’s business (wastewater to energy production, metal recovery, phosphorus recovery). This investment thesis was developed by taking into account the specific needs and challenges of the companies and its stakeholders, as well as the current trends in the impact investment market.
